Moira has visited mainland China on numerous occasions since 1978, exploring remote areas with ethnic people, adding to her appreciation of that vast land and its culture.

She studied Mandarin at Anhui University in Hefei and has been given the Chinese name, Miao Mei Ya;  (Beautiful Flower)

Painting on rice paper, using bamboo brushes, ink and colours she grinds and mixes herself, Moira always strives to capture the sprit of the subject, using space for balance and to create a feeling of serenity and tranquility.
